Schedule

7:30am – 9:00am – Check-in/Registration, Breakfast, Keynote, Warm-up
9:00am – 10:00am – Walk
10:00am – 12:00pm – Modules & Sessions
12:00pm – 1:30pm – Activity Fair & Lunch

Registration

Registration/check-in will begin at 7:30AM. Please check-in at the registration tables when you first arrive where you will need to show your photo ID. College students will need to show their school ID. Once you are checked in, you will be able to get breakfast and participate in activities that will be underway. As always, there will be a group exercises to get you warmed up for the walk and the day – so don’t be late! The walk will start promptly at 9:00AM.

Modules & Sessions

At 10:00am students will participate in age specific skill building sessions and vocational modules for them to get a hands-on understanding of possible careers for their futures. Adults will have their own session consisting of a panel of community leaders discussing education and our kids.

Activity Fair & Lunch

After the modules and sessions conclude, its time to eat! We will provide lunch and there will be fun opportunities for students to learn more about potential careers and other programs open to them.

Activities will include:

  • Lunch
  • Student group, vendor and sponsor tables
  • Backpack distribution
  • Healthy living tips
  • Sign the Mentor Walk pledge
  • Event survey
  • T-shirt distribution to all participating individuals
  • and more!


Directions To Atlanta Technical College
1560 Metropolitan Parkway, SW, Atlanta, Ga 30310

Driving From The North:
Take 75-85 South to the University Avenue exit. Make a right onto University Avenue. Travel 3/4 mile to Metropolitan Parkway. Make a left onto Metropolitan Parkway and travel 3/4 mile. The campus will be on the left, and you will enter at a traffic light.

Driving From The South:
Take 85 North to the Cleveland Avenue exit. Make a right onto Cleveland Avenue. Turn left onto Metropolitan Parkway. Continue on Metropolitan until you reach the Atlanta Tech campus. The campus will be on the right, and you will enter at a traffic light.

By MARTA:
Take either the special Atlanta Tech bus (to the side door of our main building) from the West End MARTA Rail Station or the 95-Hapeville bus, which stops on Metropolitan Parkway outside the main gate.
